This site is honoring the hard working and durable CASE and Ingersoll Hydriv garden tractors.
These tractors sport a hydraulic system, and were mostly hydraulically driven (although some did have hydrostatic drive). What difference does that make you ask? Lots is the answer. With the hydraulic system, a rear PTO valve can be installed which runs a multitude of attachments (factory tiller, wood splitter and wood chipper) along with just about any other hydraulically operated contraption you could dream up.

The Case 830 tractor has a four cylinder diesel engine which delivers roughly 65 horse power to the PTO. It was the first tractor in America to deliver an automatic transmission, and Case called its transmission the "Case-O-Matic". Back in 1960, most farmers were leary of such a transmission. So many stayed away from it. However, Case really out did itself because the transmission proved to be an engineering marvel.
